We are studying solids and liquids in our class. Last week, we explored the properties of solids by sorting objects based on color, shape, texture, weight, tendency to sink or float, ability to stack or roll, and hardness. This week we will be experimenting with liquids. We will work with water, glue, shampoo, and cooking oil. At home, you can let children assist you in preparing dinner. Have them point out which ingredients are solids and which are liquids. Children can also observe what happens when solids and liquids are mixed together.
